Yes, you’ve read that correctly-D Generation (the original line-up) have re-formed and will be making a trip across the pond next month for a single solitary UK appearance at The Borderline in London on September 5.
Widely regarded as one of the most important and unsung bands of their era, the five piece (Howie Pyro, Michael Wildwood, Jesse Malin, Danny Sage and Richard Bacchus) initially blazed a trail in their native New York City and beyond with the urgency and attitude that only a place like CBGB could spawn. Now they’ve returned to finish what they started with a rare appearance that should not be missed.
Once hailed as the only NYC-based rock n roll band that mattered in the 90s by Paper magazine, D Generation’s brief but brilliant career lasted eight years (’91-99) during which time they released three classic albums that paved the way for many modern garage bands today. Talk of their swaggering live performances spread like wildfire as they quickly won over an army of followers, a "scene" was born. They would soon find themselves sharing the stage with numerous legendary acts such as KISS, Green Day and the Ramones, usually at the headliner's personal request.
