‘Shake!’ hit another career high on Saturday 17th March when they opened Belfast’s official St Patrick’s Day concert to a 7000 strong crowd at the City’s Custom House Square. It was a fitting stage for a band who in the last six months have seen over 1000 more people sign up as fans online and for their mailing list, and who’ve seen the video to new single ‘My Time’, receive over 4000 Youtube views in the first two weeks following its release on 16th March.

Derby rockers trump Rhianna’s wheat field storm in a D cup

It’s been quite a week for tussles with indignant farmers. First there was a row over dress codes between frolicking pop petal Rihanna and killjoy farmer Alan Graham who booted the singer off his land in Bangor, County Down, for inappropriate use of a bikini.

Then came Derby rockers, Follow You Home, who landed themselves in hot water while shooting a video for a track from their "Save Yourself" EP, which is due to be released on 7 November 2011.
The incident, which makes Rhianna’s rumpus look like the storm in a D cup it was, took place on Tuesday (27 September) and involved not one but two farmers, a brace of police cars, a riot van and a police helicopter.
The five-piece were using a derelict property well known among local photographers for their video shoot. A little research revealed the property was reposed by the taxman and has remained empty for over 25 years.

“We had just started to set up when we heard some crazy screaming,” said bass player Rich Davis. “We went round to the front of the house and saw a woman two fields away going absolutely berserk.”
Screaming a rather fruity take on the phrase “get off my land”, the woman made her way towards the band and continued her tirade, barely pausing for breath.
“She was going absolutely apeshit, calling us every name under the sun,” continues Rich, “she was saying if we don’t get off her land she would throw our gear in the river.”

The woman claimed the band were trespassing and that she would call the police if they didn’t, erm, take their talents elsewhere. As trespassing is not a criminal offense, they invited the woman to dial 999.
By this point, another farmer had arrived to back up the screaming banshee. In their wisdom, the band decided to remove their gear in case she was good to her word.  As they arrived at their car they were greeted by two police cars, a riot van and a helicopter overhead.
With the woman claiming the band were a ‘gang of youths’ threatening her, something of a ding dong ensued during which it transpired the woman didn’t actually own the land.

“The police could clearly see she was talking shit and started asking us about the band and for our website so they can check us out,” laughs Rich. “They said that although we hadn’t committed an offense it was probably easier to just leave as it would be less agro.”

Follow You Home are a powerpop/rock five-piece from Derby. Formed in December 2010, they made the Top 5 of Kerrang! Magazine’s Slam Dunk competition, attracting the attention of Blink 182’s Tom DeLonge.  The band received rave reviews for their debut single "Once Upon A Lie" <http://www.youtube.com/followyouhomeband> which was released in May this year.

Their new EP, "Save Yourself",  will be released on 7 November 2011.

Follow You Home are Kayley Busby (vocals), Nick Ayre (guitar and vocals), Mikey Davis (guitar), Rich Davis (bass),  Tom Bradshaw (drums).
