Shake

‘Shake!’ hit another career high on Saturday 17th March when they opened Belfast’s official St Patrick’s Day concert to a 7000 strong crowd at the City’s Custom House Square. Resolution15… No guitars were played in the making of this record

SAP are delighted to welcome New York’s heavy metal violin specialists Resolution15 to our growing roster. Just when you think you’ve heard everything, Resolution15 will have you babbling at everyone you know. How so? They call it violin-driven socially conscious post-thrash metal, but that doesn’t even get close.

They make a gloriously intense sound that will leave you slack-jawed. It’s fast, it’s furious and it is as astonishing as it sounds. You have to see this, you have to hear this, right? Here’s the video for ‘Sufferers Rise’.

Resolution15, named after the 1959 North Vietnamese resolution to aid the Viet-Cong insurgency, leading directly to US involvement in the second Indo-Chinese War, were formed in 2007 by classically trained violinist Earl Maneein.

Earl began playing the violin at five years of age and has performed with artists such as Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, and ?uestlove of The Roots. But the life of classical session musician was not for him and Resolution15 surfaced in March 2007, releasing their eponymous debut album and wowing audiences across New York with a slew of gobsmacking live shows.

April 2010 saw the release of their Satyagraha EP, which wore influences of bands such as Black Sabbath, Slayer, Alice In Chains, Tool, Pantera, Meshuggah and early Metallica. This year they have been releasing a series of single tracks that capture the raw energy of a live performance. Part I of The Svaha Sessions, Yama, was released in May 10 while Part II, released in July 2011, is a truly astonishing take on U2’s ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’. Resolution15 are Earl Maneein (seven-string electric rhythm and lead violins), Nick Serr (vocals), Kenny Cruz Grohowski (drums), Jim Robertson (bass), Joel Lambdin (seven-string electric rhythm and lead violins).
